Personalized Internet Radio now Available For Download Via BlackBerry App World

OAKLAND, California - Today, Pandora announced its personalized Internet radio application for BlackBerry® smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM). The announcement coincides with today’s launch of BlackBerry App World™.

Pandora’s service is now available for free for the BlackBerry® Bold™, BlackBerry® Curve™ and BlackBerry® Pearl™ series smartphones. Users can download the Pandora application by browsing BlackBerry App World for Pandora or via www.pandora.com/blackberry.

The much-anticipated launch of Pandora on BlackBerry smartphones means that millions more consumers will now have easy access to high audio quality, personalized radio on some of the most popular mobile devices available today. This signifies an exciting and important next step in Pandora’s strategy to truly deliver Pandora anytime and anywhere.

“We are thrilled to launch Pandora on BlackBerry smartphones,” said Tim Westergren, Founder of Pandora. “Pandora has legions of loyal BlackBerry users that have been clamoring for Pandora on the BlackBerry platform, and we’re truly excited to bring our listeners what they have asked for.”

Pandora for BlackBerry smartphones is fully integrated with Pandora on the web. Via a universal account, users can enjoy all their existing online stations - and easily create new stations right from their phones.

“Pandora is a great app for discovering and enjoying music on the go and we are very pleased to see it become available today on BlackBerry App World,” said Jeff McDowell, Vice President, Global Alliances at Research In Motion.

Dockers San Francisco is the premiere sponsor for the launch of Pandora on BlackBerry smartphones. The Dockers brand imagery is featured at the launch of the Pandora experience when users download the application. Dockers branding accompanies each song of a user’s radio station along side the name of the artist and the song playing at the time. Clicking on the Dockers ad will take users to a special discount code that can be used for the purchase of men’s pants on the Dockers brand Web site.

Pandora Internet radio is personalized, free and easy to use. To start a station, listeners need only enter the name of an artist, song or classical composer, and within seconds Pandora will create a "station" that plays their music, and more music like it, based on the Music Genome Project. Thumbs up and down allow listeners to further fine tune the station to reflect their tastes.
