The Canadian Press Mobile app is now available on BlackBerry App World
Toronto, ON - The Canadian Press introduced the next phase of its mobile venture today with the launch of English and French news applications optimized for BlackBerry® smartphones from Research In Motion. Canada’s trusted news leader partnered with CTVglobemedia, Torstar, Transcontinental and The Associated Press to unveil the country’s most comprehensive news app, now available as a paid download on BlackBerry App WorldTM.
The Canadian Press Mobile is Canada’s first app to automatically load and refresh the latest local, national and international news from many trusted sources all in one place, available for an introductory price of C$3.69 (US$2.99) for a one-year subscription. Users can quickly and easily view, search, save, share and rate news and photos personalized to their choice of postal codes and topics – without having to set up RSS feeds or visit multiple news sites.

Content covering business, sports, hockey, entertainment, technology, science, travel and wacky news will come from more than 20 communities and a growing list of quality sources, including:

In the coming weeks, content from more newspapers and broadcasters will be added, including the Winnipeg Free Press in Manitoba and the Hamilton Spectator, Waterloo Region Record and Guelph Mercury in Ontario.
Today’s release of the news app for BlackBerry smartphones follows last week’s launch of http://news4mobile.ca and http://nouvellesmobile.ca – The Canadian Press Mobile sites accessible for free on the Internet using a BlackBerry® Browser, but with less functionality and customization options than the downloadable app.
Users can visit BlackBerry App World (www.blackberry.com/appworld) on their BlackBerry smartphone to download The Canadian Press Mobile from the “News & Weather” category.
