Sydney, Australia - Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM: TSX: RIM) today introduced the slim and stylish BlackBerry® Curve™ 8520 smartphone for customers in Australia and New Zealand. The BlackBerry Curve 8520, a new addition to the BlackBerry Curve family of smartphones, will be available from Optus and Vodafone in Australia and from Vodafone in New Zealand.*
The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is the first BlackBerry® smartphone to feature an innovative touch-sensitive trackpad, which makes scrolling and selection easy for an outstanding navigation experience. It is also the first BlackBerry smartphone to include dedicated media keys, which are conveniently integrated along the top of the handset. The media keys give users a simple and convenient way to control their music and videos.
The slim and approachable BlackBerry Curve 8520 provides easy access to email, messaging (IM, SMS, MMS) and social networking sites (including Facebook® and MySpace), and features a highly tactile full-QWERTY keyboard for comfortable, accurate typing. It is Wi-Fi®-enabled, and includes rich multimedia capabilities with easy access to music, games, and other mobile applications for entertainment on the go.
