Tata Indicom Introduces Prepaid BlackBerry Service Plans and the First Weekly Plan Offering in India

  • Introduces two service plans: BlackBerry Internet Bundle and BlackBerry Messaging Bundle
  • Weekly plans for prepaid BlackBerry services a first in India
  • Weekly package of Rs 85/- and Rs 250/-

New Delhi - Tata Teleservices Limited, India’s fastest-growing pan-India dual-technology telecom service provider, today announced through Tata Indicom the launch of prepaid BlackBerry® service plans. The new prepaid plans include a weekly plan offering, representing the first such BlackBerry service plans for customers in India.

Prepaid customers can choose from two service plans: BlackBerry® Messaging Bundle and BlackBerry® Internet Bundle, which offer customers different combinations of access to email, instant messaging services, social networking sites and Internet browsing. BlackBerry Messaging Bundle and BlackBerry Internet Bundle are available at a monthly package of Rs 299/- , Rs 900/- and weekly package of Rs 85/- and Rs 250/- respectively.

Announcing the launch of prepaid BlackBerry service and the weekly plans, Mr. Sunil Batra, President, Tata Teleservices said, “There are 2 firsts: first is that Tata Indicom is now offering prepaid BlackBerry services to customers and the second first is a weekly plan for BlackBerry smartphone customers who opt for prepaid services. Under the BlackBerry Messaging Bundle service plan, customers get unlimited access to email and popular instant messaging services. It allows customers to access as many as ten supported email accounts such as Hotmail®, Yahoo!® Mail, Google Mail™ and chat on popular services including Windows Live™ Messenger, Google Talk™, Yahoo!® Messenger and BlackBerry® Messenger. As an additional benefit, BlackBerry smartphones can display messages from multiple mailboxes in a single inbox and supports viewing email attachments from Microsoft Word (.doc), Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt), Microsoft Excel (.xls), and Adobe pdf (.pdf), as well as image files (.jpg, .bmp, .png, .gif, .tiff).

BlackBerry Internet Bundle gives customers all the features of the BlackBerry Messaging Bundle plus unlimited access to web browsing. .
