Praxedo Unveils the Praxedo Mobile Solution for BlackBerry Smartphones

A solution for managing and monitoring service calls in real time that delivers higher business productivity

Paris, France - Praxedo, a software publisher specializing in the provision of computerized services to field workers, announces today the rollout of the Praxedo Mobile solution for BlackBerry® smartphones.

Suited to maintenance, after-sales service, inspection, survey work, personal service and transport environments, Praxedo Mobile is a software package that helps businesses schedule and track the service calls of their field workers in real time. Companies that use it in conjunction with BlackBerry smartphones and BlackBerry® Enterprise Server can now optimize their resources and enhance the flow of information to and from their mobile workforce.

The Praxedo Mobile solution comprises two modules.
The first module a Web interface designed for managing work orders, whether they involve technical inspection, delivery, on-site repairs or other similar tasks.
Branch directors, dispatchers and supervisors can use it to generate work orders, optimize scheduling by calling in “the right person at the right time” and analyze reports from the field.

The Web interface offers advanced parametering that allows companies to custom-configure the Praxedo Mobile application (e.g. generating data entry forms and work order templates).

Thanks to the second module, field workers can access the work order lists assigned to them on their BlackBerry smartphones. Orders are forwarded via a secure wireless connection.

Technicians, delivery people and other mobile workers find out from their BlackBerry smartphones what jobs they are to perform, along with all the information they need to do so (e.g. the address, type of equipment failure, number of parcels to be delivered).

Afterwards, they send their reports directly from the field. On their smartphones, they can access pop-up menus, check boxes, numerical fields and text fields. They can also take photos and record total activity time (the total working day, the length of each operation, etc.), materials used (e.g. spare parts) and mileage.

Field workers with GPS-enabled BlackBerry smartphones can even use their handset to facilitate navigation and discover the most convenient routes for getting from one service call to the next.
