AIS and RIM Introduce the BlackBerry Curve 8900 Smartphone in Thailand

The thinnest and lightest full-QWERTY BlackBerry smartphone yet

Bangkok, Thailand - AIS and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX RIM), today introduced the BlackBerry® Curve™ 8900 smartphone in Thailand. The new BlackBerry Curve 8900 is the thinnest and lightest full-QWERTY BlackBerry® smartphone and it offers an expansive feature-set in a compact and refined design that looks, feels and works great.

The new BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone sports a chrome frame with a stylish black finish. Packed within its sleek design are a wide range of powerful communications and multimedia capabilities. It also features an easy-to-use full-QWERTY keyboard and a large, brilliant display. Weighing just 110 grams and measuring 109 x 60 x 13.5 mm, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 fits comfortably in the hand for either one-handed or two-handed use. In addition to its advanced phone, email, messaging, organizer, web browser and multimedia applications, it features built-in GPS to support location-based applications and services. It also allows easy access to social networking sites and has built-in Wi-Fi® (802.11 b/g), making it easier to stay connected to family, friends and colleagues.

This power-packed smartphone includes a large, brilliant HVGA+ (480x360 resolution) display – the highest resolution available on a BlackBerry smartphone – as well as a 512MHz next generation processor for fast and responsive performance. Its advanced multimedia capabilities include a 3.2-megapixel camera with image stabilization, digital zoom, flash and the ability to record video*, as well as a rich media player, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack and stereo headset.
