FancyFon Upgrades Support to Include BlackBerry Enterprise Server v5.0 for Corporate Users and BlackBerry Internet Service Users
Cork, Ireland - FancyFon™, a pioneer in unlocking the capabilities of next generation mobile communications and a BlackBerry® Alliance Program Member, today announced that it has introduced the FAMOC™ (FancyFon Mobility Center) application for BlackBerry® smartphones. The FAMOC application is now compatible with BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 5.0, and also provides full support for BlackBerry® Internet Service users. By increasing its support for the BlackBerry® solution, FancyFon is further strengthening its commitment to the BlackBerry® platform.
FancyFon has provided specialist remote support for BlackBerry smartphone users since February 2009, empowering mobile operators and enterprise customers to manage BlackBerry smartphone deployments remotely - regardless of whether they are connected to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server or on BlackBerry Internet Service. This is done by enabling access to end users’ phone screens, keyboards, applications and files via over-the-air diagnostic tools.
FAMOC simplifies the process of moving user data from multiple platform handsets to BlackBerry smartphones, enabling the centralized management of corporate handsets, regardless of operating system and manufacturer. FAMOC empowers organizations to remotely install any application, wipe a device and SD card, or create and roll out new functionality to the BlackBerry smartphone fleet, from a single common FAMOC console or via multiple BlackBerry Enterprise Servers.
With the management capabilities of FAMOC, BlackBerry smartphone users will experience the following additional features from FancyFon:
- Integration into multiple BlackBerry Enterprise Servers to provide a single point of control
- The remote installation of applications onto BlackBerry smartphones provides unparalleled asset, configuration, application and security management to BlackBerry Internet Service users.
- The capability to back up and restore BlackBerry smartphone contacts, calendar information and other defined data and files, over the air, can be initiated by the user or centrally by an administrator
- Security enhancements include the configuration or wiping of data on BlackBerry smartphones, as well as the remote wiping of a handset’s microSD card when required
Dietmar Fuchs, COO at FancyFon commented; “Many corporate customers operate on one or more mobile platforms, which is complex and time consuming to manage. FancyFon’s ability to provide a single point of control over multiple BlackBerry Enterprise Servers and other mobile platforms radically simplifies the management of a mobile device fleet which leads to impressive cost savings for FAMOC customers.”
FAMOC is a centralized mobile device lifecycle management platform that enables customers to control multiple mobile devices based on multiple mobile platforms in real time, over the air. This provides mobile handset users with the following benefits:
- Improved business productivity and increased employee efficiency
- Seamless roll out of new and improved services, over the air
- Removed administrative complexity and minimized support and management costs
- Increased privacy and data security to address the compliance issues of corporate clients
